Aquatic Plants
Touch of Paradise Designs
Note to the Pond Owner Please be sure to specify what kind of aquatic plant you are ordering and what color bloom (if applicable). It is important when deciding where to place your water Lily in your water garden, that you choose a location far enough away from moving, or splashing water, (such as a fountain or waterfall). The reason for avoiding any splashing water is the water drops that fall on the Lily's leaves may cause fungus to grow and turn the leaves brown, eventually rotting and killing the plant. Some Aquatic plants such as the Creeping Jenny, thrive on the moving water in the streams and waterfalls. The roots gather the nutrients as the water flows through the plant. This also helps in the starvation of bad or unwanted algae. We provide Aquatic Plant packages to help you decide which plants would work best for you and your water garden. It is also very important that you have the right amount of aquatic plants in your pond. Not enough aquatic plants could cause more heat in the water and encourage nutrients that bad algae feeds off of, therefore stimulating and actually promoting unwanted algae growth. Too many aquatic plants can disturb water flow and circulation in your pond. Too many plants in your stream may actually cause the water to back up and over flow in the stream, bringing the water level down. With the Aquatic Plant packages, we offer the correct amount of plants that would best suit your pond. All Aquatic Plants are packaged and shipped "bare root" in a bag. As soon as you receive the package, be sure to open immediately and rinse with water and place in pond. Try to plant the roots into the gravel of your pond. All Aquatic Plants are guaranteed 48 hours.
